ABOUT US
African Canadian Youth Sports Network was incorporated on February 5, 2021. In 2016, Ghana Association of Hamilton collaborated with Empowerment squared to launch African Cup of Nations Hamilton, a two-day soccer tournament that was played at the Tim Hortons field by 4 African nations. The Goal of the tournament was to bring the people of African descent in Hamilton together through sports. The tournament was successful and the organizers decided to run this tournament every year.
In 2019, the African Cup of Nations saw a lot of interest with 12 African nations participating in the tournament at Mohawk Sports Complex. At the championship game were Scott Duvall (MP Hamilton Mountain) David Christopherson (MP Hamilton Central) and Paul Miller (MPP Stoney Creek East). The Planning committee saw this as an opportunity to help the youth in a broader scale by incorporating so we can get expand the and run programs for the community especially the equity deserving groups in the greater Hamilton and Wentworth region.
The Founding Directors are Collins Kyere, Donald Ngalla, Dr. Yussif Yakubu and Henry Onwuka
